The team attended one of the most engaging Maximo user events of the year at GOMaximo in Houston in early April.

Almost 200 attendees from all over North America (and beyond) enjoyed 3 days of focussed presentations and discussions on all things Maximo. Electra had the honour of presenting 2 sessions, the first one on ‘Five Key Considerations for Successful Maximo Training’ and the second one in partnership with our client Seadrill on ‘Improving Failure Reporting and Data Accuracy’. Both sessions attracted around 50 attendees and both were very interactive and well received. In the Five Key Considerations session we did a deep dive into the following areas.

• Change Management

• Training Needs Assessment

• Learning Strategies

• Evaluation and Feedback

• Sustainment and Support

For the Failure Reporting session Seadrill discussed the challenges that they had when it came to data accuracy and explained how Electra were able to assist them by producing engaging and informative eLearning.

Electra will certainly be back at GOMaximo 2025 and we hope to see you there.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented Software Trainer / Instructor to join our team to support our client requirements. The ideal candidate will have a passion for client satisfaction, a strong understanding of adult learning principles, and expertise in training users on software applications. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging training materials and programs to ensure effective user adoption of software products at our client locations. Previous experience in IBM Maximo is not required although is preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Training Delivery:

Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for users at various skill levels, including new hires, experienced users, and advanced users at client locations.
Facilitate workshops, webinars, and hands-on training sessions to effectively transfer knowledge and skills to participants.
Customize training content and delivery methods to meet the specific needs of different user groups and organizations.

2. Training Development

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to gather content and define learning objectives.
Design interactive and engaging learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles and skill levels.
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and materials and adjust as needed.

3. Documentation and Support:

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting tips, to support users before, during, and after training sessions.
Provide ongoing support to users through various channels, such as email, chat, to address questions and resolve issues related to software usage.

4. Quality Assurance:

Functionally review and test software updates and new features to ensure accuracy and usability before incorporating them into training materials and programs.
Monitor user feedback and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement in training content and delivery methods.

Qualifications:

Qualifications / Certifications in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in training delivery, particularly in software applications or technology-related fields.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners in both virtual and in-person settings.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Other:

Position entails IBM Maximo training development and delivery for client projects. Overnight allowance provided for work outside of Calgary. Must have authorization to work in Canada (Open Work Permit, PR or Canadian Citizen)

All candidates will undertake the internal Electra Learning Academy program.
