Nuclear Information Technology Strategic Leadership (NITSL) – Savannah, Georgia

Electra were excited to attend the recent Nuclear Information Technology Strategic Leadership (NITSL) conference in Savannah, Georgia. This was the 51st NITSL conference but the first Electra had attended. Electra were represented by Neil Summers our President of North American Operations.

For over two decades, NITSL has served as a cornerstone for nuclear technology leaders, providing a vital platform to address industry-wide concerns and share strategic guidance. The conference is structured around four key pillars:

• Cyber Security

• Digital Controls

• Infrastructure & Applications (I&A)

• Software Quality Assurance (SQA)

These pillars were reflected in the sessions and discussions throughout the week, offering attendees a comprehensive view of the technologies and strategies driving the future of nuclear operations.

This was a diversion from our usual Maximo focussed conference, but it proved to be very informative and very enjoyable. It was great to expand our knowledge of true IT issues that organizations are currently facing and how they apply specifically to the Nuclear industry.

Hot topics included cyber security and of course AI (both the benefits and challenges of it). Being involved in many discussions related to technology and how it interacts with operations, maintenance and reliability was educational and fascinating.

If you are involved in the IT side of the nuclear industry, then this conference is a must. We are already looking forward to returning in 2026.
