Another energizing Maximo Utilities Working Group (MUWG) conference in the bag for Electra Learning! We had a fantastic experience packed with innovation, insights, and a ton of networking opportunities.
For those unfamiliar with it, IBM Maximo is a powerful asset management solution that helps organizations manage, maintain, and optimize their assets across industries. Whether you’re in manufacturing, facilities management, utilities, or transportation, Maximo has something to offer.
If you’ve never attended a Maximo users group event before, here’s a rundown of what to expect and why it’s worth marking the calendar for the next one.
The first thing I noticed as I walked into the venue on the first day was the energy. There’s something uniquely powerful about being in a room filled with professionals who are not just interested in the same field but are actively working to push the boundaries of asset management. Everyone is there to exchange ideas, solve problems, and learn from each other’s experiences.
Another key feature of the event was the sharing of real-world case studies. Highlights included hearing from the breadth of utilities companies across north America and their experience of IBM Maximo, from smaller single site operations to country wide providers on their particular experience and their use cases for Maximo. Some only at the start of their journey, others heavily invested in all application possibilities of the suite. Some still on 7.6, others planning or well into their journey to adopt MAS.
Each time I go to these events I am thrilled to see all the opportunities for sharing information, best practices, lessons learned and not least, new friendships made and old ones strengthened.
However, our personal highlight was winning the Best Merch award, voted by the attendees. It seems our light up Yo-Yo’s and digital text fans were a hit!
